Local business and community leaders will gather to hear from the Boy Scouts of America’s lead volunteer leader Wayne Perry at the Mount Baker Council’s 8th annual Good Scout Breakfast on Wednesday, March 27th at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center. Breakfast Chair Pat Maurer invites friends and associates to learn about the future of Scouting, while raising funds for local Scouting programs. Our goal is to raise $103,000 to honor Scouting’s 103rd year as a valuable community resource for American families.
Mr. Perry is the 34th elected National BSA President and only the fourth to come from the Pacific Northwest. He is the CEO of Shotgun Creek lnvestments, LLC in Bellevue and is a part owner of the Seattle Mariners. He is the former general counsel, president and vice chairman for McCaw Cellular. He earned his BA from the University of Washington, his JD from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College and a Masters in Tax Law from New York University. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association.
Wayne has served in a great many local, regional and national volunteer leadership roles. He and his wife are the parents of four Eagle Scouts. The Perry’s are outstanding examples of the nearly one million dedicated Scouting volunteers who work to instill Scouting values and ideals into young people. Unlike many youth-serving organizations, Scouting is volunteer-driven, rather than being directed by paid staff members.
There is still room to attend the Good Scout Breakfast. For information and registration, contact the Everett Scout Service Center at (425) 338-0380, register online at www.mountbakerbsa.org/giving or email email@example.com.
