Everett Silvertips Vice President / General Manager Doug Soetaert announced that the Ontario Hockey League's Soo Greyhounds will be joining the Everett Silvertips, Portland Winterhawks, Tri-City Americans, Seattle Thunderbirds and Spokane Chiefs at the annual Holiday Inn Pre-Season Classic, held over Labor Day Weekend from September 3 - 5 at Comcast Arena.
The three-day tournament will mark the first time that Everett has competed against a team outside of the Western Hockey League. The Silvertips will face off against Sault Ste. Marie on Friday, September 3, Tri-City on Saturday, September 4, and will close the tournament against Seattle on Sunday, September 5. All Silvertips games will begin at 7:00 pm.
After facing Everett on Friday night, Sault Ste. Marie will play Portland at 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 4, and Tri-City at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 5.
Silvertips Head Coach Craig Hartsburg, voted as the Western Conference's nomination for the 2010 Dunc McCallum Memorial Trophy as the Western Hockey League's Coach of the Year, previously coached Sault Ste. Marie in 2001-02 and from 2004-08 in addition to his NHL head coaching positions with the Chicago Blackhawks, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and Ottawa Senators. Hartsburg posted a record of 179-111-18-23 (W-L-T-OTL) over five seasons with the Greyhounds following a standout junior career in the Soo in which he compiled 178 points over 161 games played from 1975-78 that helped launch a 10-year career in the NHL.

Advance reservations are required, and can be made up to 48 hours prior to the game by calling (425) 322-2726. Guests will receive a phone call confirming the reservation. The Arena Grill opens two hours before the drop of the puck.
