Everett Symphony

Global Spectrum at the Comcast Arena at Everett is proud to announce a partnership with the Everett Symphony to support arts in the community.  Global Spectrum will provide marketing support to the Everett Symphony for their 2009-10 Family Together Concerts, expanding their commitment to bring music to the lives of children and youth.

The series is designed to delight children and inspire the child within all of us.  The presentations include The Magical Music of Walt Disney, Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker, and Cirque de la Symphonie.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to help the Everett Symphony thrill children of all ages with music and to encourage them to become lifelong music lovers,” stated Kim Bedier, Global Spectrum’s General Manager at the Comcast Arena at Everett.  “These programs may change a child’s life by igniting a desire to become a musician, dancer, singer or even a circus performer!”

"We are proud to present the same musical excellence in these family-friendly performances that you will hear during our regular season Classical and Pops Concerts,” says Dr. Paul-Elliott Cobbs, Music Director and Conductor, Everett Symphony.  “Everett is very fortunate that the Everett Symphony Orchestra presents a Carnegie Hall level of music to the entire community especially youth.  Our Family Together Concerts are a wonderful addition to a remarkable season."

Music Education Fairs will be held in conjunction with each of the events with the goal to introduce children and youth to the opportunities to access music either as promising musicians or as music lovers.  All music teachers, organizations and providers in the community are invited to participate and help provide local youth with a pathway to their musical futures.

When Barry Manilow performed at the Comcast Arena at Everett in March, he pledged to donate 45 Yamaha violins to the community through his Manilow Music Project, giving the Everett School District its first orchestra and strings program in 25 years.

Beginning in September, Tulalip Elementary School and Hawthorne Elementary School will commence the Prelude Strings program geared to fourth and fifth graders.  Projects like the Prelude Strings program, the Everett Symphony’s Family Together Concerts, and Family Together Concerettes (35 minute programs geared towards infants to seven year olds) are building future generations of music lovers, musicians, dancers and singers.
